A visual connector - Webcam

A webcam is small camera device which allows users to see each other on the internet.  It is a “video capture” device which is connected to a computer or a computer network.  The connection to a computer is through a USB port or to a network by an Ethernet or Wi-Fi.  Webcams include a lens, an image sensor and some support electronics.  The most common lens used for this device is a plastic one which can be screwed in or out to set the camera’s focus.  Lenses with fixed focal length are also available.  The webcams system has a sufficiently large field that the use of a fixed focus lens does not generally affect the image sharpness.  Most webcams have a built in microphone enabling the user to do a video calling or video conferencing.
Millions of mainstream PC users have benefited from the capabilities added on to the webcam.  Features like instant messaging, text chat services and video conferencing have become popular.  It has made the world a smaller place.  The more enhanced features available on the webcam are: automatic lighting control, real time enhancements, automatic face tracking and auto focus.  This makes it easy to use. Webcams are also utilized for security purposes.  The PC connected cameras have software which helps it to record the visuals and sounds when detected.
As technology evolves webcams are becoming a necessity.  Their appeal has increased due to the low cost factor.  Advancement in technology allows for inbuilt webcams in laptops. Webcams are great for long distance communication.
